How do you measure effort?

This is a funny one to measure, it certainly is measurable by numbers, but life is more complex than that.

To think of all the human effort that goes against conservation, the exploitation that is mindless and completely blind to anything other than profit.

Perhaps wasting some petrol and resources saving little birds is not so bad, although there definitely a direct correlation between driving and the environment.
